Making laser animation is no different ,each frame must be drawn and entered into the laser program via the computer and then built into a sequential block for insertion into the relevant show for playback.

The power of today's computers allow the animator and programmer to "cheat" a little. Image frames such as logos, text s and graphics can have sophisticated "actions and transitions" applied allowing smooth rotations, ramps and morphs. Graphics may also be created and viewed in real-time 3D with the same effects applied. This means that objects (graphics) have the three dimensions of width, height and depth. Note that each view is only 2D -- when it is projected onto a flat surface it has no real depth but as the object rotates, the different views give a very strong illusion of a 3D object being rotated. Video style "wipes" and "transitions" are also possible.
